It's been a while since we posted any recipes! I got this recipe from Ryan's sister, Julene. I wanted to get more healthy recipes a few months ago and Julene gave some to me. We just now got around to making this recipe and we think it's delicious!
Ingredients:
1 lb. ground beef or turkey (beef is cheaper)
1/2 small onion, chopped
1 (7.5 oz.) can tomatoes
2 tsp. chili powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cumin
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 can garbanzo beans
1 can kidney beans
Cook beef and onion until brown, drain fat, stir in undrained tomatoes and spices, bring to boil, simmer until most of liquid has evaporated, add beans. I'm not sure if the beans should be drained or not. Ryan did drain them, but I guess you can decide what you like best--drained or undrained. :)
Put over torilla chips and top with shredded cheese and lettuce. It can be eaten in tortillas as tacos as well. Yum!
